We BNH Gas Tanks are Manufacturer and exporter of Bulk LPG Gas Storage Tanks. These are together with any associated pipework connecting the system providing space, water heating or cooking facilities, should be fabricated, designed and installed in accordance with the requirements set out in the ASME Code and NFPA 58 Guidelines . There are two types of Bulk LPG Gas Storage Tanks

Bulk LPG can be stored carefully and conveniently in a special storage tank. These storage tanks can be installed quickly and easily with minimum fuss. Alternatively our storage tanks can be buried under ground, completely hidden from view, with only a small inspection hatch visible. The LPG storage tank can be topped up by our gas tankers. Every property has different needs; however we can establish your needs and match them to a solution.

1. Above Ground Bulk LPG Gas Storage Tanks: It support to the weight of the bulk LPG tank including the gas contents, a load bearing concrete base is required. It is important to ensure that the base is effectively sized for the appropriate tank and appropriately fabricated to ensure stability and correct functioning of the tank valves . The tanks are provided with safety fittings of Rego USA make and Rochester magnetal level gauge and with Corken pumps and LPG compressors .

2. Under Ground Bulk LPG Gas Storage Tanks: It is also recommended that a suitably qualified and experienced engineer be employed to undertake a site survey and provide the appropriate advice on all the groundwork and foundations necessary for the ground conditions. It is important that an appropriate separation distance is maintained or a fire wall be in place when installing an underground Bulk LPG Gas Storage Tanks as per NFPA 58 Guidelines.

 Pressure Relief Valves of Rego USA make

As every installation varies, it is important to select the right LPG bulk tank for your needs. Our specialist will advise you of the best combination and storage options. Above ground tanks come in a range of sizes. The appropriate size of tank will depend on the following factors:

» Total estimated gas consumption of all the appliances on the system at peak demand.
» Physical constraints imposed by the site.
» Access for installation of the LPG bulk tank.
» Access for deliveries.

1. How are Liquefied Petroleum Gas Tankerss classified for application procedures and rule enforcement in Illinois?
LP-Gas tanks are addressed separately from either fuel dispensing or bulk storage flammable and combustible liquid storage tanks. LPG = liquefied petroleum gas, meaning that the product is stored as a liquid under pressure in the tank, but at normal pressures and temperatures, the product is a gas. Therefore, different rules apply (Title 41 Ill. Adm. Code Part 200). Also, there is a separate application for the installation of an LP-Gas tank

2. If a LP-Gas tank is installed underground, or mounded in earth, what rules/applications apply?
A LP-Gas tank, whether installed above or below ground, is considered a LP-Gas tank by the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The OSFM retains jurisdiction for the inspection of these tanks and a regular LP-Gas tank installation application should be submitted. (NFPA Standard #58 does contain special rules when a LP-Gas tank is installed underground or under a mound of earth). An underground LP-Gas tank is NOT considered an underground petroleum storage tank by the OSFM and the rules for underground storage of regulated substances found in 41 Ill. Adm. Code 170 do NOT apply.

3. When do I have to submit an application to the OSFM for LP-Gas tanks?
Applications are required to be submitted to the OSFM for the following LP-Gas tank installations:
 Installation of tanks (including relocation of existing tanks) larger than 2,000 gallons in individual capacity.
 Installation of multiple tanks at the same site with an aggregate capacity of greater than 4,000 gallons.
 Installation of any capacity tank that will be used to dispense LP-Gas into smaller cylinders.
Applications are NOT required to be filed for work being done to previously inspected tanks for:
 Replacement or repair work related to existing piping or valves
 Replacement or repair work related to existing collision protection equipment or the installation of additional means of collision protection
 Replacement or installation of tamper protection or fencing
 Replacement or repair work related to existing dispensers that do not provide additional dispensers or relocate dispensers
Comparison of Above ground and under ground LPG storage tanks:
 Underground LPG storage tanks require less space for installation as compared to above ground LPG storage tanks since the safety distance is reduced by 50% as per NFPA 58 guidelines.
 Underground LPG storage tanks are more fire-safe as compared to aboveground tanks
 Underground LPG storage tanks are more costly as compared to aboveground tanks
 Underground LPG storage tanks need cathodic protection system for corrosion protection whereas it is not required for aboveground tanks
 Underground LPG storage tanks need more time for installation as compared to above ground LPG storage tanks.
